Why meditation should be part of your exercise regime

In many cases, the hardest part of a workout session is starting. Making the decision is a process that sometimes requires more than a desire. Meditating can help in this choice-making process, but it does not stop there.

Meditation allows us to find a precious space to escape the sound of the outside world and find ways to enhance our inner self. Meditation strengthens your willpower, your decision-making capabilities, and, in general, gives you a stronger brain. Just like your workout to strengthen your muscles, meditation will help you strengthen your brain. 

You can make better decisions

During exercise, athletes arrive at "the zone", which is when you have full awareness, are focused, and are present. This is meditation and its very important because it helps us realize when we should be pushing further and when we should just back off a little. 

It can keep you focused

Focus during a workout is important to help you keep track of the routines that you made five minutes ago and not repeat them. Meditation sessions during your workout routine can help you stay focused.  

It can prevent injury

Working out is about mindful movement, which is a basic tenet of meditation. Once your mind is set on performing activities that will benefit you instead of pushing yourself unnecessarily, your mindfulness will help you slow down. 

It helps you focus on your breathing

Too many people do not know how to breathe properly. Meditation helps you keep your mind on your breathing, therefore enabling you to have a more oxygenized workout. 

It can help you cope

There are so many times in which you go through tough moments. Like when you feel that you cannot complete that extra mile.  Meditation helps you be more aware of your present to help you drive yourself towards your goal.
