Mini Breast Has Grown For Understanding Breast Cancer's Treatment

The researchers have used the discarded tissues of patient to create a mini breast to provide an insight to the behaviour of breast cancer and development of treatment to cure this deadly disease. A transparent gel that could divide the cell and spread it was used. It was very similar like developing mammary glands in the puberty. This technology was used to carry out research work of many projects and it aims in understanding the way the breast cancer cells acquired such aggressive traits. According to the German Research Centre for Environmental Health, it also showed the functioning of the adult stem cells in its normal regeneration.
During the reproductive phase of a woman, the mammary glands get renewed and this guaranteed production of milk. It is believed that due to the stem cells such high cellular turnover becomes possible. The cells if breast cancer adopts all the properties of a steam cell that is required to acquire some aggressive regenerative traits. The healthy tissues of women are discarded and they undergo aesthetic breast reduction that uses Petri dish and a transparent gel to get it cultured. The increase in rigidity of the gel leads to increase spread of these cells. Such behaviour has been observed in the breast cancer cells. The behaviours of the cells that has regenerative capacity has also been found by its physical properties with the help of newly developed organoid assay. The epithelial cell that is present in the human cells is used to rebuild three-dimensional tissue of the mammary glands.
